Anna Paquin has been an actress across Canada as well as New Zealand for over a decade. Paquin is a Canadian as well as a New Zealand-born actress. Born in Winnipeg but raised in Wellington the city where she was born, she was the first actress to appear as a character in The Piano. The actress was chosen to play Flora McGrath the daughter of a blind Scottish pianist who in the mid-19th century moves into New Zealand for an arranged wedding after she accepted an open audition call; she was nine years old. She had little prior experience in acting. At the age of a teen, her family moved from Canada to the United States. Paquin played Jane Eyre's main character when she was a teenager in Franco Zeffirelli's Jane Eyre (2000) as well as her main character for the character in Fly Away Home (2000). Paquin played Frankie Addams as a child in the television adaptation of Carson McCullers novel The Member of the Wedding. Paquin also had a role of the queen of Spain, in Steven Spielbergs 1997 movie Amistad. The actress played teenagers as teens in Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (1998), A Walk on the Moon (1998) and Almost Famous (2000). She also portrayed the groupie Polexia Aphrodisa.
